Koolhaas

Pattern: Interweave Holiday Knits 2007

Yarn: ShiBui Merino Alpaca

Needles: #8 US Inox Express, #8 US Brittany DPN’s

Pattern Notes: Another wonderful pattern from the delectable Jared Flood(Brooklyntweed.) It was incredibly easy to memorize and the finished project is just so beautiful! I would highly suggest learning how to knit cables without a cable needle and Grumperina has an awesome tutorial.

This wonderful little hat is not for me though. It’s an example for the store – HCW!

Cobblestone Pullover

Pattern: Interweave Knits Fall 2007

Yarn: Vermont Organic Fiber Company O-Wool Balance

Needles: US #7 Knit Pick Options 24#, US #7 Addi Turbo 16″

Pattern Notes: “God Damn it!” It’s rare that I’ll finish a project and just be completely floored by its beauty and brilliance. Don’t get me wrong, I love each and every one of my finished projects but there is something about Cobblestone that just takes my breath away. It’s absolutely beautiful and the O-Wool is a perfect substitute for the Classic Elite Tweed. The pattern itself is extremely simple and I love the way the sleeves are attached therefore eliminating the need to actually set them in. Definitely a bonus!! I totally plan on knitting myself a Cobblestone except more fitted.

My 100th Post!

November 7, 2007

I had meant to celebrate it by posting progress pictures of Cobblestone but my camera decided it couldn’t be bothered today and has gone on strike.  Rest assured, Cobblestone is beautiful!  I am currently working on a sleeve after having finished most of the body.  While I know it may be ambitious of me but I’m hoping to finish one sleeve tonight.  What is it about knitting in a small circumference?  I’m convinced that is why I don’t like knitting socks.  I am knitting the sleeve on 16″ circulars and it’s driving me crazy.  I can’t get used to the small circle and you would think it would be easy since I have such small hands but it feels so foreign to me.

Lookie what I bought today with my first(although technically second) paycheck!

Little black dress from Bebe.   I am so in love with this dress I can’t stand it!  It’s a strapless convertible dress and it’s perfect.  I can wear it to weddings, funerals, dinner parties, pto meetings, scrubbing toilets…. etc.  I can’t wait to wear it somewhere.  Quick, someone invite me to something!
